Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge
There are several lodges scattered around the Savuti region of the Chobe National Park but few can boast a location to match that of Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge. This Property offers 11 luxuriously appointed tented suites, two of which can sleep up to four guests, making them ideal for families. Guests will enjoy the thrill of morning and afternoon game drives and also have the chance to view Bushman Rock Art, hidden away at secret locations on the Ghoha Hills themselves.
Run on solar power and designed to exacting environmental standards, Ghoha Hills Savuti Lodge is an appealing blend of seasoned timber, traditional thatch and romantic canvas. Game drives are the focus here and for good reason: Savuti is one of Botswana’s best game viewing destinations and has a reputation for excellent elephant and predator sightings. A zebra migration adds more drama to Savuti’s summer months but thanks to the re-appearance of the ephemeral Savuti Channel there is permanent water to make Savuti a year-round destination.
Top of the list are Savuti’s predators: lion prides here are large and powerful, taking down hippo and young elephants on occasion. Leopards and cheetahs are regularly seen as are Africa wild dogs, especially during summer when impala herds give birth and migrating zebra arrive. Savuti is also famous for giant bull elephants, often seen in front of your suite if your accommodation looks over the channel. The bird watching is excellent, particularly in summer, and there are enigmatic cave paintings to see as well as opportunities for fantastic landscape photography.
